The best part of our fund-raiser today had to be the drunk driving goggles. Our deputy sheriff was on hand to write out tickets for those people who couldn’t pass the drunk driving test. We all applied the beer goggle and went for a test.
Pretty much everyone failed, except this one lady who oddly passed with flying colors. We all have our suspicions now.
Ok, so, the best part? The best part was when the officer left us alone with the goggles. One girl, Kim. Kim put on the goggle and thought it would be fun to try to run the obstacle course. I said run.
Run she did. And after her first round she got cocky and went back for a second. As she ran by the second time, she looked over at me and another girl and gave us the “Ha!” grin. Then her foot caught the table and she took a nose dive. Funniest stuff I’ve ever seen! I almost pee’d my pants I was laughing so hard.

Happy Halloween!

I’m so glad it is Halloween. This is the best way to get chocolate candy while PMSing. My day has become sooo much better.
I’d like to announce that a stress factor in my life has been taken away. I had been debating about whether or not I should even talk about it. I never got around to it and now I don’t have too. Just know that I am heading back to the gym to work off four months of stress. Ugh.
I’m heading to the doctor to get some pain meds for my wrist. I am sick and tired of carpal tunnel syndrome. Not cool at all. I can’t play my PS2 game. What’s up with that? Don’t my wrists know that I can’t stop at 79.2% complete? I must complete it! The mild OCD won’t let me stop now! 🙂

College bound and stuck

In high school as punishment during detention (of which I was a frequent visitor) we were required to write 200-word essays. Little did the teachers know I enjoyed the chance to embellish my “sin” and write lengthy reasons as to why I was wrong and how I should punish myself. Yeah, it was a little weird, but at that point it was the only way I had to release my creative writing flair. I’ve always had stories the inside me, building creative layer upon layer.

Eight years later, I discovered ENG-111 (or was it 110?). I was asked to write things that gave me not only an “A” in the class, but opened my creative outlet again. I have little stories hidden places that I will occasionally find and remember how much I enjoy writing.

Why am I telling you this? Other than the reason that this is my blog and I’ll write if I want too is that I’m writing an essay for a scholarship and I am sooo blocked right now. This essay will become the bane of my existence! (A little dramatic, don’t you think?) I am having to prove my character, explain my field of study, and create a life thereafter! Can’t they just be happy knowing my life, my conscience, would totally be relieved to have a degree? Something substantial to help me gain a better career?

Any suggestions for awesome personality strengths? Isn’t it sad that I’m asking the INTERNET…

Blogging in my dreams

I had another one of those nights where I composed an kick-ass post in my head… as I was falling asleep. I also wrote a kick-ass email begging people to attend the festival which I am pimpin’…hard. Yes, this white girl pimps. Especially when I’m the secretary of NCSSA and I’m also the only one who didn’t go to the conference in New Bern, NC. Back to my blogging dilemma.
Do I remember it? No. Did it make me dream about blogging? Yes.
I dreamt about Miss Zoot. Except in the dream I couldn’t remember her real name and I ended up calling everybody with their “Z” names. Oh yes, it was the whole Zoot family… at the Renaissance Festival.
I’m such a dork.

October 24

Today is the one year anniversary for this job. I have completed my first year at DSS. I was talking with a co-worker today and we were picking out the changes since I began. She says that I even look different. She was trying to remember the outfit I wore on my first day (it was a fuzzy, pink sweater and dress khakis and my awesome pointy-toe khaki heels). The reason I remember? Because the girl in the office across from my cube pointed out how girly I look. And the sweater is commemorated on my badge. Lucky me.
In the past year I have grown my hair out and had 6 inches cut off. I’ve gone from brunette to blonde. I’ve gotten my acrylic nails put on and taken off more times than I can count. (Currently, they are off and I seriously need them back on)
I have become a serious book nerd and a much more serious computer geek. I fell in love with my iPod and my boyfriend. (not in that order)

And none of this is chronicled here. Ha! Nor anywhere cause I deleted my domain and I’m starting over. Great, huh?

I’d also like to mention I feel sick *cough cough* and I might go home. No, for real!

Book Meme

No, I wasn’t tagged. Yes, so far memes are a big part of this new place. You know what? Too bad. It’s better than being completely quiet – right?
So… on to the meme. If you’ve been with me for a while you’ll know I love LURVE to read. I can read a book a day if I’m having a good day at work (which means doing nothing).
1) One book that changed your life:
I can’t think of anything that makes me say it has changed my life.

2) One book that you read more than once:
Tailchaser’s Song by Tad Williams I’ll probably read it again too!

3) One book you’d want on a deserted island:
On a deserted island. Only one book? It’d have to be something with a complete ending. No cliffhangers if I’m stranded. Pass.

4) One book that made you laugh:
Pass. No, no pass. I can tell you what makes me laugh. The rich girl chick lit. Funny, stupid stuff, but it is great to pass the time.

5) One book that made you cry:
Marley & Me by John Grogan. Sobbing at the end.

6) One book you wish you’d written:
The Harry Potter series. When does the new one come out?

7) One book you wish had never been written:
Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? by Dr. Suess
Guess which book Caitlin loves the most?

8 ) One book you’re currently reading:
Another Carl Hiaasen book: Strip Tease

9) One book you’ve been meaning to read:

The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes. I got it and I still haven’t read it.

10) Tag five people: Ana, Katie, Donna, Angela (Who just got engaged! Yay!), and Danielle.

Is every Monday morning Bitter Morning?

I had a wonderful weekend. I got all caught up on my sleep. I had no idea naps were such great things. There is a lot I’d like to get into, but I just don’t have the time today. I have a sick niece I must go home and watch. At least I have four new cds to listen to and a movie to watch on my ipod.
BTW – don’t be an idiot and buy a movie on iTunes with the intentions of burning it to DVD. It will be a waste of your time and money.
Now I have to invest in cable to go to my tv from the stinkin pinkin ipod…

Offending others since 1978

I was in a spectacularly horrible mood last night. I was cussing the walls, the dogs (I actually punched one.*), the Star Wars LEGO game. All because my arms are hurting. They hurt from the flu and tetanus shots I got on Wednesday. They hurt from carpal tunnel. My mind hurts from having to do things that I don’t understand. It all broke down last night and a very bad mood came out.
I finally broke down and took a darvocet and my sleeping pill at 9:30. Figured I had better go to sleep before I hurt someone.
Today… I am much better. I went and bought braces for both of my wrists and now one is stable and pain-free. Much, much better!

The Roots

I’m looking at the “About Me” page thinking how I’d like to tackle this one. There are so many things about me I’d like to share.

I’ve really enjoyed not being #1 on Google, however, I do miss the few people who used to read me. Things won’t be completely anonymous here. Just a little more low-key. I’ll probably still use real names and not protect the innocent (hey you got yourself in that mess to begin with – I just get to blog it).

I want to go back to my extreme dorky roots. Where I began. The place that still won’t disappear even after all these years! Yes, that is me in the beginning. That is me actually testing CSS in my blog. Gah! How embarrasing! At least I can know for sure the birthday date of blogging. April 3 baby! Drama included…

I’m more common than I thought
